October 2, 2012 – Vancouver Island Conference Center In Selected To Host The National Aboriginal Fisheries Forum II Conference 2012

(Nanaimo, British Columbia) - The National Aboriginal Fisheries Forum II Conference (NAFF II) hosted by the First Nations Fisheries Council of BC, will gather for 3 days at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. As an annual National Conference, this year bridges that of 2011 and continues the process of Economic Development related to the Aquaculture and Fisheries Sector in Aboriginal Communities.

Delegates from all over Canada will visit Nanaimo after last year’s conference in Nova Scotia. This year, Vancouver Island University Chancellor and National Chief, Shawn Atleo, will have a keynote address via video message and David Mannix, CEO of Coast Economic Development Society will be on-sight to give a presentation during the multi-day event. Among the delegates will be a number of First Nation Chiefs as well as Federal Ministers. The conference agenda commences Monday Morning October 2nd at the extraordinary venue of the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in the beautiful Harbour City of Nanaimo, BC.
