NEW NANAIMO CENTRE Update on Site Activities

(Nanaimo, British Columbia) – Site preparation work at the site of the New Nanaimo Centre is continuing.

Additional soil removal will take place during the next two weeks.

Rapid impact compaction will follow. There will be some noise and vibration associated with this work.

Soil mixing is scheduled to commence in mid-April and continue through much of the summer. This process mixes concrete with the soil and creates a series of walls that will go down to solid ground.

These processes are designed to ready the site to withstand the weight of the new buildings. Construction of foundations is currently anticipated to start in early summer.
